I love this show. It’s a reboot of the original Leverage that ran from 2008 to 2012, which is an unofficial reboot of The A-Team. I haven’t seen anybody correctly compare the A-Team characters to the Leverage characters. But I have, and here it is: Nathan Ford is obviously Hannibal, Sophie is obviously Face, and Parker is obviously Murdock. Everybody goes off the rails when they get to B.A. because there’s 5 characters in Leverage. They get too specific and forget that B.A. also had a brain aspect. He was the one who designed the contraptions that they built during the montages. Therefore, Hardison is B.A’s brain aspect and Eliot is B.A’s braun aspect. In the last season of the A-Team, they added the Puerto Rican guy as an “Add A Kid” character. He was like 20, while the original 4 were at least 35, so he was relatively a kid. He could be compared to Breanna who was added in the Redemption reboot to fill in for the actor who played Hardison who had other acting gigs going on while redemption was being filmed. He was in a few episodes and is in the season 3 premiere.

While I am unfamiliar with the case, or the original show, I can guarantee you the starting the topic off with the culture war is going to get it shut down pretty fast. Mod note over.

This type of stuff is what leads an immediate division in the topic and then folks are arguing instead of talking about the show itself. Anyway, this is the only intervention I want to place here, as I have no knowledge of the show or actor.

I kind of enjoyed the show at the beginning of the original run. But I got tired of it.

Eventually it just feels like you’re watching a bad heist movie, with all the inherent tropes of the genre, over and over again. I feel like the characters all kind of got a little silly over time.

I loved the original but this continuation just didn’t do it for me, it seemed to be missing the magic the original had. There were a few things that bothered me about it too but I it’s been about 4 years since I watched the few episodes of this series so I can’t remember what it was.

… maybe this was the missing spark? I’m not sure, but the other characters didn’t feel the same either.

Maybe I’ll give it a rewatch and see if I was being too critical.
