I use Arch on both my homelab and main desktop. I hopped many distro before choosing arch for either.
On my homelab, which is built with recent hardware, I almost choose debian as a base. But ultimately I didn't like the outdated kernel and having to enable the backport repo just to get updated kernel patches - it seemed messy as opposed to just having the actual latest kernel. So I installed arch and had access to the latest kernel on a more barebone and minimal base allowing me to the build the system as I pleased. I wanted update kernel so my newer hardware would benefit from some of the updates for zen3 CPU.
On my desktop, arch again simply allowed me to build my system as I wanted. I am tinkier for sure and I like my system my way. As much as I favour flatpak and repo over the AUR, having access virtually unlimited packages is incredibly powerful. I also do a lot of gaming on this machine and arch has served me as well here as any other distro could.
Managing and tweaking a desktop arch and server arch system has also taught me a ton about linux in general. I am a nerd at heart and learning more only makes it easier going forward. I cannot much imagine using a non arch system now. I would recommend Mint to my non tech friends and family, who just want working, easy to use reliable systems any day. But for the tech enthusiast, arch is worthwhile.
