Coda56 question

Does the coda56 modem have an event log? The manual makes no mention of it. I am also having trouble finding any good screenshots of the signal stats page.

Are there any Coda56 owners here willing to share insight? Thanks!

It does have one but it’s hidden for whatever reason.
To get to any status pages you need to have a device with an ip as 192.168.100.x, and access the modem via https. This means you can’t do it through a router unless you have more advanced ones that you can set up virtual adapters.
In order to get to the logs you have to go to the docsis page, then replace status_docsis with status_log in the URL.
I will attach a photo of my signal levels just so you can see what it looks like.

Does the CODA work like the old Netgears when we suddenly couldn’t access it and had to create a static route?

Like:

Destination IP: 192.168.100.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
Physical Interface: WAN
Gateway IP Address: router’s current WAN IP assigned by Xfinity (which can change)
Metric: 2

swilliams That doesn’t work for me. Putting that into my router doesnt do anything (it also seems to just completely break connectivity for everything else). I would imagine it’s because the coda only accepts connections from devices that also have an 192.168.100.x IP.

Here’s a simple work around…..If you have a 2nd Ethernet port or add a net adaptor to your PC assign 192.168.100.10 to it. Then get a small 5 port 2.5 gig switch and connect a cable from from the modem port to the switch and another from the switch to your router. Then connect another cable from the 2nd port on you PC at 192.168.100.10 to the new switch.

Then you’ll be able to address the CODA56 with no problem.

On my Asus router I have this script set to run on startup and it lets me get to the modem pages:
