VTMB 2 first impressions

A few updates regarding the much delayed project from PC Gamer. Seems… Positive?

So I was unsure of what to expect when I visited The Chinese Room for the very first Bloodlines 2 hands-on. I went in a sceptic. Now, though? I’m cautiously on my way to becoming a convert. After playing through the prologue twice and getting to muck around with a bunch of end-game ability combos, the thing that’s stuck with me the most is how powerful I felt, and how much the game delights in leaning into the vampire power fantasy.

I’ve been pretty skeptical of this one since it seems like it has been going through development hell for years now but this does make me cautiously optimistic. The original VTMB was beyond fantastic (and now that we’ve mentioned it someone somewhere will feel the urge to reinstall and play it) so it has big shoes to fill.

I really haven’t heard much about development of this game, and the odd time I did, it was usually negative. I have no expectaions for this game, It’s really only something I’d buy on a super deep discount, or hopefully as part of Amazon Prime that I keep forgetting to cancel.

The original was quite good. I played it years after it came out. I wish I had it earlier (when I had fewer games and more time) so that I could have played through it multiple times.

So I was bored at work yesterday and decided to watch a little bit of a Let’s Play and honestly it doesn’t look too bad? Like the writing and voice acting all seemed really solid. Based on the limited amount I watched I’d be willing to bet if you like the World of Darkness setting and enjoyed the first game, you’ll probably like this one. I could be wrong, maybe it gets real bad later on, but I personally kind of want to pick it up now.

I’m digging the idea of it already… seeing as Silksong is taking up a lot of my time, I don’t know if this is an insta-buy, but I think I’m going to get it eventually.
