My $6 satisfaction rebate expired and with the $4 price increase it is $10 more per month than what I used to pay. I called them today and now the best they could do was a $2 rebate. They insisted that it is the best they can do and kept talking about moving to fiber once it is available in my area. I would gladly move to fiber if it was available but cables are underground here, I don’t think I will ever see fiber in my area.
I accepted the rebate for now but paying more for a slower speed than Fizz is disappointing. I know they talked about having a real customer service compared to chat only but I never use customer service (except to negotiate a better price…) so it isn’t that important to me. If Fizz can change their crap modem/router for a better modem only device I would probably change.
It seemed the level 2 agent dealt with that situation often because I think he was pretty much reading a script…
ebox used to be better price only, (almost) no increase and no need for negotiation
to open to price negotiation to match competitors
to not really open to price negotiation and frequent price update (not yearly but it seems every 2-3 years now, last price increase was in 2022 while before that it was really rare)
I guess we are finally seeing the effects of the Bell acquisition. I keep seeing ads/sponsorship form ebox so in the end we need to pay for all that marketing stuff.
