my internet plan on my bill is PERFORMANCE INTERNET (legacy plan name) speed is 300/20 and i pay only 73 dollars.i did not receive the current speed upgrade because the performance tier is not included in the list.i looked at the rate for the CONNECT MORE plan 400/35 and it is 93 dollars,so if i was to change the name of my plan to CONNECT MORE just to get the increase will the price go to 93 dollars?i suppose it would, any comments please.

Depending on where you are the current deals are as low as $30/month for 400/35 so it makes sense to give Comcast a call.

beaglejohn Sometimes the prices are available on the website for existing customers. Otherwise a chat session or phone call works. Unless you make over $1,000.00/hour its worth the effort.

Best way to me is through Xfinity Reddit
Post a message what deal you are looking to get then they will ask you to send them a modmail.
After that you are working privately with them and they will work with you or offer something for about the same price.

I actually very recently went the Retention route and had success lowering my moms Connect (plus phone) plan. Seems like it all depends on who picks up the phone

Also may depend on the time of the year. Some public companies look at their current customers numbers and are willing to “make a deal” to keep/increase customers as the end of the reporting period (often quarterly), is near so their earnings call numbers look good.

I was on the Performance Select legacy plan. I just made a appointment and went down to my local Xfinity store, about a year ago as a existing customer. I made it clear to them, that I wanted internet only nothing else. They gave me a 2 year promo price lock at $45 without auto pay, for the Connect More plan.

I was paying $95/month for Gigabit Extra. I went to “Manage Plan” on the Xf website and was offered numerous deals (and non-deals). I switched from Gig Extra to Gig, and my price went down to $70/month with a 1 year contract and a 2 year price guarantee.

If you see nothing on the web site, the suggestion to go https://www.reddit.com/r/Comcast_Xfinity/ is a path worth chasing, too. I’d go there before chat or phone support.

After not seeing anything obvious, if I click on “upgrade speed” link, there are options to downgrade. But just rack prices for the lower tiers. Does look like I could upgrade to Gigabit for only $6 extra (vs $10 for 800.)

I saw that too, that by downgrading my speed, it showed +NN/mo, why more?

But I I have a 2-year promo/discount right now, but by changing my speed I would lose that, as I had the “Include offers with term contract savings” toggle set no/off. Turning that on, then made the prices make more sense:

My MIL’s promo was up. Via Reddit, I got her the same plan for two more years at the new customer rate (at the time). 400/150 (now - was 300/100 three months ago) for $35 for 24 months.

You’re on the old plan name anyway. Might as well try via Reddit to get it done. Trying to simply change the plan via the website when logged in won’t work.
