jarablue I am pretty much in the same boat as you in Buffalo, NY. Waiting until the end of 2027 for a small upgrade in speed.
Spectrum made their “Network Evolution” in December 2022. And it won’t be complete until December 2027 (That is if it doesn’t slip again.)
During their initial presentation, they said that there would be three “waves.”
Wave 1:
15% are getting 2/1 high split upgrades. (Now-2023)
High-split 1.2Ghz/204Mhz digital return D3.1 on legacy downstream, digital upstream.
This will be the DOCSIS3.1 and will be the 4 mid-sized markets this year.
Wave 2:
50% of the footprint are getting 5/1 rPHY 1.2ghz D4.0 (Early 2024)
High-split 1.2Ghz/204Mhz digital return D3.1 on DAA rPHY. D4.0
Wave 3:
The remaining 35% are getting 10/1 rPHY 1.8ghz D4.0 (Late 2024)
Ultra high-split 1.8Ghz/204Mhz digital return D4.0 on DAA rPHY.
Looks like those dates slipped, a lot. It seems like waves 2 and 3 are getting lumped together into late 2027.
