Andyross Tried to post a link to a Reddit post here: https://broadbandbulletin.com/d/1688-how-to-get-an-update-for-a-pixel-watch-to-install But the actual link is just a Reddit logo, and doesn’t seem to work. I had to post the link without the https to make it at least cut-and-paste.
broknsymetry Andyross But the actual link is just a Reddit logo This is what I see.. Clicking on the image takes me to the Reddit thread, clicking on “Read more” displays the text of the first post. I see nothing wrong with it and actually like it better than just some link that I have to open in a new tab before knowing what the link is about. [edit] Clicking on the Reddit logo appears to open your Reddit profile page and clicking on the subreddit title (“PixelWatch”) takes you to that subreddit page.
Rook I don’t know if it’s a bug, but I like it. Clicking “Read More” gives me the entire original reddit post. Clicking on the body of the post takes me to the post on reddit. I think it’s more useful than just having a link.
fmd The forum has begun embedding various sites directly into the thread, fx. Youtube and Reddit (apparently). You can avoid it by using the “add link”.
SLC_96 Ideally Reddit embeds should fall back to a link on unsupported setups. If it can’t be fixed I will disable Reddit embedding.
Donoreo I see the preview of the post and if I click it takes me to the post on Reddit. I do not see what the problem is?
Rook So I’m guessing this is working as expected? (To be honest, I didn’t know embedding a reddit post was a thing.) Maybe Andyross is seeing something different?
broknsymetry Rook Maybe Andyross is seeing something different? A screenshot is worth a thousand posts.
Andyross I’ll try again in my home computer later. It’s Firefox (just updated today) with AdBlock Plus. Maybe something is or was being blocked. Phone using Android FF and uBlock seems to show actual content.
Andyross I disabled “Enhanced Tracking Protection” for broadbandbulletin, and it now displays properly. Disabling AdBlock itself had no effect.
Donoreo With “full sheilds” up and “aggressive blocking and tracking” (which does break some things at some sites), I still get the same here and the Reddit link.
