I am trying to set up Discord as a substitute for Skype. No problem downloading it or installing it. But whenever I test talking, I get an echo. Very annoying! Makes it pretty unusable.

I am on Windows 11, Creative Pebble X Plus speakers (using Bluetooth to connect), Logitech Brio 500 camera (which has a microphone in it). The components work fine with Skype. I’ve tried looking at various things to kill the echo but have had no luck. Anyone have any suggestions?

I’m not familiar with Discord, but I would try toggling any echo cancellation and/or noise suppression controls you can find in the app(?)

If your network router exposes any WAN/SIP-related ALG/NAT control, try disabling that… probably not it but hard to know what that code tries to do in any given router.

I think I would have better luck talking my few contacts into using Signal than into using Discord.

Thanks. I don’t get on reddit, so I wouldn’t have seen that. I have been having a back-and-forth with their tech support via email, but so far it hasn’t been helpful. Which is why I expanded asking to this site, hoping someone could give me a clue.
