Peacock Cancellation Issues

Any Internet only folks that took advantage of the free Peacock subscription figure out how to get it cancelled? I called to cancel and the girl kept telling me it’s free as long as I keep a qualifying Internet plan. It says right on my bill that the free subscription ends June 2025. She said to pay no attention to that lol. So what’s the Magic to cancellation? Keep calling?

Yea I remember them trying to push that free Peacock subscription, I never took up there offer for that so called free flex streaming box. I know how Comcast works, nothing is ever free without a catch. I don’t know how many times I would see forum post of people complaining about being charged a rental fee. For a Flex streaming box there no longer are using, or $150 for unreturned equipment charge.

@Dumaine, I know you’ve been around for quite some time. Are you Xfinity Rewards Diamond or Platinum level? If so, you get free ad-supported Peacock Premium as a perk for that.

Its a free perk. No one is forcing you to use it. No reason to cancel it. When the free subscription ends they will either extend it or it will stop working so you will have to initiate your own subscription. They will not automatically start charging you.

Saratoga66 Thanks for that info. I guess I would be dangerous if I would read all of the information. It states plain as day…..“Regular rates apply IF YOU CHOOSE TO CONTINUE SERVICE”

Do watch it quite a bit though, so i think i will continue it, even if i have to start paying for it maybe, unless i can grab an Xfinity reward that covers it after this 2 year promotion runs out

Although I have only logged into Peacock 2 or 3 times ever, your comment is interesting as I am Diamond. Although I never see Peacock in the Rewards section…maybe because it’s already on my account due to Gigabit plan

I’m Diamond, too, and I have Peacock via the Rewards Program (and also by being a Gigabit subscriber).

I went go to the Rewards web page, and scrolled to the bottom. There I saw “My Activity”. I clicked on “View All” and then saw a secondary title “Active.” Under that was a box that said “Get Peacock Premium”. I clicked on that, and saw this:

I never had a “gigabit” plan, but I have Diamond-level Xfinity Rewards and got free Peacock Premium that way.

While my current bill shows a number of my discounts with end dates, the Peacock one does not.

The Xfinity Reward free Peacock is unlimited, as long as you maintain Diamond or Platinum levels. But I don’t know if you can upgrade to Premium Plus (ad-free) yet, even at a monthly cost.

From what I could find you are not able to upgrade the free premium reward to premium plus by paying the difference.

So for chits and giggles I called to see why it never showed available in my Diamond Rewards. Was told because I had already took advantage of the Gigabit plan offer. Said it should show available when it expires if I don’t start paying, which I will never do!!

I think the current economics of means there is less and less chance of seeing this perk cancelled.
Current streaming market means ads return more than the actual subscriptions do, more churn is the last thing they want to stimulate.
they may at some point feel secure enough to push some customers towards the non premium/MORE ads tier.
but now is not the time for that.
keeping current internet subs happy is a higher priority, as the content arm is pushed towards the sale table.

My current subscription expires June 25, I guess this explains the activation emails that I have been getting.
