Cedar Rapids 10G migration

Logged into my Mediacom account today to check if there’s an outage (there was) and saw the notice below on my dashboard. The map shows June 2025 for my neighborhood in NE Cedar Rapids near Robins. Everyone in the CR area should log in and see when they are scheduled for the 10G upgrade.

Let me guess, Mediacom 10G is DOCSIS 4.0 which is similar to Xfinity X-class internet. I’m originally from Cedar Rapids so I’m a former Mediacom customer, I now have Xfinity where I currently live but we don’t have X-class in my area yet. My former address in Cedar Rapids also had McLeodUSA (now I’mOn) available as well. I have not lived there since 2002 but McLeodUSA had a dual PSTN/HFC system that delivered POTS telephone service alongside cable TV and DOCSIS cable modem service. It was kind of a state of the art setup for its time.
