GeekGirl1 I don't think of Discord as Social Media.. Certainly nothing like Facebook, Twitter, etc.. It is a private chat with just TH folks in it.

But completely understood if that is not your thing.

Again, no problem if Discord isn’t your thing, but it’s set up in this case to mimic a discussion forum with technical discussions as well as a word association thread.

I'm not a Discord user, but it's similar to IRC (which I did use, many, many years ago).

fmd I had not thought of the similarity to IRC but I agree with that remark. I tried using IRC (many, many years ago 😊) but couldn’t get the hang of it.

After a long, long time, I wanted to visit that always friendly place on the internet again. The DSLR/BBR distributed computing forums.

And suddenly it was all gone. Apparently no notices beforehand.. just gone.

Although I didn't visit that often, I'm glad that I'm still seeing some familiar names around here on this board.. but I'm not sure how many people will find their way to this place.

Yes, it would be good if DSLR could be resuscitated with competent management. But it would also be nice if this place (Broadband Bulletin) could continue to operate in parallel. (Justin case ...)

And I hope that the Discord site continues on, too

Since the TH Discord Channel isn't easily found, would there be any objection to putting an invite to the Team Helix discord channel here? Wouldn't want to offend anybody by doing so.
(Invites seem to expire after a week, so if allowed, invites could be posted at a regular interval.)

is there a way to post the discord channel information so we can join? the existing invite link is expired, and “TH Discord Channel” didnt yeild any resutls either. all good - because we have htis central location here too. yay team helix for surviving the great dissolution. 🙁 but 🙂
