Charter, Comcast and Altice USA added 886,000 mobile lines in Q1, but also drove a record 18% of total US mobile industry gross adds. That suggests cable is now pulling from a wider segment of the market, says MoffettNathanson.

Led by Charter Communications, Comcast and Altice USA, the US cable industry put another dent in the mobile market in Q1 2025 by capturing 886,000 mobile lines, improved from a year-ago gain of 804,000. All three companies saw an acceleration in line adds as mobile becomes increasingly central to US cable operators’ strategies. They are leaning in with updated pricing and promotions, a bigger focus on premium-level plans, device upgrade programs and bundles that typically are combined with home broadband.
