Just wondering if anyone is watching “Deli Boys” on Hulu. The basic idea is two sons of a businessman who is running a chain of delis find out when he dies that it’s all just a front for drug smuggling and distribution. It’s a comedy, no joke.

oh interesting, I saw an image of it and it looked like something entirely not up my alley at all but your synopsis sounds better than what I preconceived.

The plot is something done before; two clueless brothers who are screwups take over their deceased (rich) father’s criminal business and bumble there way through things as they try to keep the illicit business running. It is fairly funny but the dopey brothers get annoying from time to time.

Just found out it has been renewed for a second season. Fred Armison will be joining the cast.

it was on my “maybe” list but hadn’t come back to it, has anyone else here watched it? I’ve tried watching a few shows that are more culturally aligned but I found them too steeped in pretending to be of that culture or pretending to be in a religion with bad writing and stopped watching them.

Yes, see my post up thread about season 1 if you haven’t seen that post already. There is a little bit of the Pakistani culture but mostly its just a comedy about two Pakistani-American brothers who bumble their way through things.

It’s not too much into culture. It’s mainly Pakistani-American characters, but what is going on is more or less generic comedy.
