Playoff prediction time. Most of my Western Conference predictions are pure guesses since I barely watch any of those teams:
Eastern Conference
M1 Carolina vs. WC2 Ottawa
Carolina in 7 - I’m not particularly impressed with Carolina. But Ottawa is a bit of an unknown. They could suprise some people, or just flame out. Not sure about the injury status on some of the D. I know it was a problem down the stretch.
A1 Buffalo vs. WC1 Boston
Boston in 6 - The wheels are going to come off for Buffalo at some point.
M2 Pittsburgh vs. M3 Philadelphia
Pittsburgh in 6 - Philly has been hot, so I could be totally misjudging them. I think the Pens’ depth will be the difference, at least more than their goaltending will hold them back.
A2 Tampa Bay vs. A3 Montreal
Tampa Bay in 7 - This could be more the fact that I don’t follow Montreal at all, and going with the safer choice in Tampa.
Western Conference
C1 Colorado vs. WC2 LA
Colorado in 5 - There’s a lot of talk about Colorado peaking too soon. I don’t think it will make much of a difference.
P1 Vegas vs. WC1 Utah
Vegas in 6 - This is mainly because I know nothing about either of these teams, particularly Utah.
C2 Dallas vs. C3 Minnesota
Minnesota in 6 - Dallas has some injuries. I think Hintz is questionable. And they lost Heiskanen.
P2 Edmonton vs. P3 Anaheim
Edmonton in 7 - Again, mostly I don’t know anything about Anaheim. Probably couldn’t name a single player. So I’m just giving it to McDavid.
