Carolina managed to avoid the sweep.

For what appears to be an easy series, Florida has suffered some consequences. They’ve lost Reinhart - it’s always tough to judge an injury with a knee. And the game before last, they lost Mikkola. Mikkola’s injury looked like a pretty violent fall. It’s hard to imagine a fast recovery.

Nobody thought a sweep was gonna happen.

Since they only won because of a bad change by the Panthers, I don’t see why the win would give them any confidence. The game probably would’ve went to OT 0-0 if that bad change didn’t happen.

Incidentally, the goal that was disallowed also happened because of a bad change by the Panthers. I wonder if 3 injured players being replaced had something to do with those bad changes.

I heard all three injured players were at the morning skate Tuesday morning.

It’ll be 6 years in a row that a team from Florida gets to the finals. Canada no longer owns hockey. Florida owns it now.😬😛

Who ever comes out of the West will have home ice in the finals, but Florida has been maybe the best road team in NHL playoffs history, maybe even sports playoff history, so I think home ice will mean even less than it usually does in the finals.

Florida also had Reinhart and Mikkola return in that last game. So, the Carolina series wasn’t as costly as it might have seemed.

Apparently, Washington put out an email advertising the season as Ovechkin’s last, and then had to recant on it saying they don’t have a final decision on his future yet.

Yoy want it to be every other day like the conference finals? Did the cup finals used to be every other day? Apparently the schedule is the way it is so the NHL and NBA finals don’t happen on the same day. Any idea why the NBA and NHL playoffs are synchronized now? The NBA I believe, used to be a week or 2 ahead of the NHL. Why did they change that a few years ago?

Any idea which goalie Edmonton is gonna use in game 1, or the whole series? If they had any intention of going back to the Pickard, wouldn’t they have used him tonight? Maybe since they were up 3-1, they figured they might-as-well use Skinner and give Pickard more rest?

If it’s Skinner, which one? Shut out Skinner or normal Skinner?
