Bell Streamer box volume

I have a Bell Streamer box that was free as a part of a promo. I never really used it beyond testing, but now I want to set up a second screen for keeping an eye on other hockey games when playoffs start, or baseball.

I have a spare 27″ monitor with speakers, and it works fine with the streamer. However, I cannot control the volume with the remote. The setup only allows volume control via IR or CEC via HDMI to an actual TV.

OK I thought i’ll pair a bluetooth speaker to the streamer. It works, but the volume cannot be controlled. However if I press the volume buttons on the speaker, volume indicator appears on the screen. Just can’t figure out how to make it control the speaker itself. I guess the only choice is to keep the speaker within reach.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

My first thought was to have a pair of speakers that volume control integrated or an amp with a remote or something like that. But it’s probably not what you’re looking for because, clearly, you don’t want this to be your main TV.

You know, just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks…

Lebon14 No this is just temporary, its a BenQ monitor with built in speakers.

I also tried a couple “button remapper” apps from the google play store, but they did not have any other volume related options that could be assigned.

I never had much success getting the volume control working on the bell streamer, I think it has to be CEC-HDMI to make it work. I remember when I had start tv, I could get it to adjust the volume through the android TV app? android remote? on my phone I forget what that app was called, I have not tested it with the bell streamer yet as I don’t use it very often.
