It looks like there is now direct support for embedding YouTube videos. Previously it would just show the link but now I can view the video directly from BBF, like this: Some, mainly music, say unavailable and must be watched on YouTube.

Really? I looked over the posts you edited and saw April Wine, B.B. King, Joan Jett, Jethro Tull, and a couple of Ella videos play fine. The rest didn’t work.

Rook Thats what I mean I only kept the change if it played if it didn’t I just kept the link, Now some don’t play.

broknsymetry I use Brave, I have Autoplay set to disable. I never have autoplay anywhere.

Donoreo I don’t get autoplay anywhere either except here with that Tom and Jerry cartoon from Dailymotion. All auto video play is turned off in my browser, but that thing plays no matter what, I use Vivaldi. I just checked it also autoplays in Firefox.

I don’t get DM ads with uBlock Origin active. Turned it off and got ads.

Ads? Once again, Brave, I never see a Youtube ad. The built in ad blocker is the best I have ever seen.

Another weird thing.
I can see other internet sites and other forums where embedded music videos work, but some of those videos don’t work here.

There’s an embedded video of a Linkin Park video that works there, but doesn’t work here.

All of the embedded videos on that page work.
There’s a couple of videos that do not work here, but some videos that do work here.
Not sure what to make of this. Is it Youtube or Flarum?

The page is just embedded Youtube music videos (that work).
The last embedded video on that page, posted 3 days ago, does not work here.

From this I’m assuming it’s not a general Youtube or Flarum issue, but an issue with our implementation of Flarum.

(No hurry on this stuff, SLC, just trying to collect information from the internets. If some music videos don’t work, I’ll live with it.)

broknsymetry Finally got this to stop Autoplaying , had to block an element in the frame with uBlock Origin.

Question: Is it possible to post video with a smaller screen size?
I adjusted the ’embed code" for the previous video to be half size (ie. change width/height from 560/315 to 280/160) but it still would post full size"

It looks the site will now support embedding all YouTube videos, including music ones that would previously not embed. This is a great and very welcomed improvement. I assume that this was done by our fearless leader, SLC_96. Thank you!!!

Yes and yes. It is generally true that all changes, like links and avatars, are retroactive. For example, if you change your avatar, the new one will show up on all your prior posts.
