Deleting dslreports bookmarks.

Here we go, deleting the icon for the old Dslr site from my phone…

I was going to wait until February 1st, but I don’t think it’s coming back. Icon just teases me sitting there. End of an era.

Also testing mobile image upload.

I had certain forums bookmarked in a folder called DSLReports. I deleted them all except the main page in hopes that maybe one day it will come back. With that being said, I can see great potential in this new site and hope that it is here for a very long time.

I gave up on the site several days ago. The timeout error got me upset.

I only had one bookmark, but it was copied to all of my computers and browsers. (I use Firefox and Chrome.) Replacing the bookmark with this site made me happy again.

GeekGirl1 yeah even if Justin Beech (or whoever is running it now) got the site back up, many of the users found their way here. I’d think we’d bumrush to copy and paste key topics from there to here and download as much as we could.

Sad to see it go but it’s time to move on. I didn’t know much about its somewhat tumultuous past with moderation as I primarily stayed in tech forums, and stayed out of politics. I’ve certainly found interesting history / discussion regarding it on another forum site and even a Wordpress blog site about it.

ANYWAY- clean slate, fresh start… let’s go!!!!

Contacting others so they can join here
Retrieving images from the Gallery
Archiving the Artify threads.

cypherstream If it’s the same Wordpress site that I’m thinking of, the user left very angry because of some nasty things that were said about him and the mods refused to delete those posts (I do think they should have, as the statements against him were quite mean and obviously pure conjecture). But he went a little overboard upon leaving and set up that Wordpress blog trashing the site.

[deleted] if they are, this is a fresh start to all. Whatever happened at the other site was under different management. Be nice to have a clean slate.

DSLR is one of those sites I just got into the habbit of checking in on over the past 22+ years pretty much daily. Now trying to break that habit!

ilikeme It took nearly a week for me to not really care any longer. I was already working on the break when the shutdown rumors strated swirling. Devices are scrubbed of the bookmarks and history. The nginx 504 errors are no longer. Browser returns "ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED" without delay.
