telcodad Yeah, it time to once again "spring ahead." I usually start changing my clocks starting Saturday evening, and just changing the few more "visible" ones just before bed or early Sunday morning.
Yup, I've been starting to change those less visible clocks now.
As far as discontinuing all this twice-a-year clock changing, I'm for that. The question then becomes, do we then stay on Standard Time or DST? Arguments have been made on which way would be best.
One comment I've seen to one of these articles says "why don't we just split the difference and move the clocks 1/2 hour ahead of Standard Time and then just leave them there. This would at least give an extra 30 minutes of sunlight in the evening year-round, while not making it too much darker on mid-winter mornings.
So if this should happen, I think we should call this new, 1/2-hour time-shift "American-Saving Time" or "AST" š
For the lower-48 states, the new time zone abbreviations would then be "EAT" (Eastern American Time), "CAT" (Central American Time), "MAT" (Mountain American Time) and "PAT" (Pacific American Time). š
