When you have an app installed that's supposed to open when you go to it's website, how exactly does that work? Does the browser or website detect the app, or is it the opposite? I have an app that I just installed and the app was opening when I opened a job ad that's in a email a few days ago, but it's not working now. I've had this problem with other apps and sometimes it was fixed by opening the app before opening a link. I tried googling about this but found nothing. Is there some term I should be using?
The fact that I'm using an alternative OS(LineageOS), probably has something to with the problem. But some apps open when I open a link to it's website. I tried changing the default website, but that didn't do anything.
