New Fios Boxes VM4100ATV and Stream TV

Is any one using this new equipment on their FIOS+ TV service? I rather have my VM4100 back as this Stream TV does not support Home phone functions like onscreen caller ID. The remote is small and and the last rail is gone and the program guide sucks as it multiple clicks to get the same information. The Stream TV is just a Chromecast device with live TV added.

njrichie You actually like that last rail? Last is supposed to bring you quickly to the last channel. That rail is slow, clunky, and annoying. It also likes to turn itself on after being disabled.

I have the TV+ boxes. I'm getting used to them.

I bought the IR adapters for the boxes so I use my universal remote (or the old remotes from Verizon) instead of the bluetooth remotes that TV+ comes with.

I'm still waiting for the Dolby Vision fix and then I won't care about the change that much.
Hopefully they push that update soon.

The only thing I like about Stream TV is it now remembers the filter you select for the guide and doesn’t reset when you turn it off. IE subscribed. The notifications are screwed up. It keeps shows the same notifications again and again even when you delete them. When you select info to see information on a movie you need to go through multiple clicks to see the same information as before. I miss the last watched channel rail. It now defaults to the Home Screen and not to Live TV screen were I want to be.

The VM4100ATV makes a whirling fan noise which is annoying. The smaller remote is very crappy and is going to break with normal use.

FYI The Stream TV is an WiFi AX device, so it can now take advantage of the higher AX speeds if you have the router that supports AX WiFi.

Are you talking about when you turn it on?
When I turn on the box I usually see the Home screen for a second or two then it goes to the last channel I was watching on Fios.

Rook Yes, you are correct! I wasn’t paying close attention. If you hit the Home button you end up at the Home Screen. Also the back button (Left Arrow) now has a purpose and works. Hopefully they will fix the notifications the same ones keep repeating even long after the change date and multiple deletions.

Just an update my Stream TV device finally kicked the bucket and had to be replaced. Verizon sent an new one the next day and I returned the old one to them. I was having issues with the old one and I mentioned it on a different thread. To me this is a glorified Chrome cast device with Verizon software branding and remote.
