Any Conexon Connect users?

My relative who lives in Owensboro, Kentucky had only Charter Spectrum as the sole WIRED ISP at her address. But recently Conexon Connect Fiber (through partnership with Kenergy, local electric utility) became available. Now paying $50 for Conexon 100/100 Mbps plan.

I recently became one a week ago at my second home. I started with AT&T Fixed wireless, then in 2022 went to T-Mobile 5g home internet and now Fiber by Central Florida. I am paying $50 (same as I was for TMO) for 100/100 as well. The TMO wireless was better than AT&T but it was subject to dramatic slow downs during peak times and the latency sucked as to be expected. I would get ₂₀₀ down and 6-10 up on TMO during non-peak times. I absolutely love the conexon product. The only thing I don't like is I that I can't change the DNS servers on the Gigaspire combo ONT/router unit - They force Google DNS and I want to use Adguard. I changed the settings on the Gigaspire but it won't change from Google. It's a minor inconvenience.

BrucebDowns you might try logging into your Gigaspire with the username support and the password support. It probably won’t work, but it’s worth a try. Then you can go into the more advanced settings and I’m about 90% sure you can change the WAN DNS. The one in the standard admin page is just the LAN DNS. I actually got our NOC to change our primary DNS to Cloudflare from Google because it works better with streaming apps on Roku devices.

On the bottom of the router should be your user name and password.

User is commonly admin.

That should allow you to set the DNS to what you want it to be.

Now my advice is do not change the user name or PW, I don't know why it happened but every time I did that I could not log back into the device with having to reset it back to factory settings.

I work for a small power co-op’s fiber company who uses Conexon for new build outs and mapping. It’s not exactly the same as them being the ISP/Partner, but I have some experience with them.

Splitpair Yes, I have tried that - you can set the LAN DNS, but not the WAN. For Fiber by Central Florida, they are forcing Google DNS.

I will try the support login posted above the next time I am there.

Just paid my third bill with CFEC - The portal reminds me of the Verizon FIOS site over 15 years ago. I noticed how I can just check a box on what plan I want to upgrade to. I am currently on the $50 a month plan which is 100/100 but literally just checking a box I can I go to 1 or 2gbps that are the same prices they advertise to new customers.

The billing page is no bullshit, no chat with us/ call horseshit. I love it.

The 100/100 plan has been discontinued and replaced with a 200/200 plan for $65 + tax’s.
