Looking like Charter has freed up 24MHz formerly used by QAM video that they have shifted to SDV.

Looks like local channels are no longer guaranteed to be set to linear status. I've noticed they moved primary channel feeds of lesser viewed locals to SDV.

These are currently unmodulated:
357MHz
363MHz
369MHz
375MHz

I am going to guess they are going to shift SDV frequencies down by 24MHz, SC DOCSIS will likely start at 453MHz and likely to allow for Charter to get two full 192MHz OFDM blocks between 642MHz and 1026MHz when they launch the 2gig tier.

AMDUSER Charter is only using IP for Youtube and Netflix on the world boxes. On Demand still uses traditional QAM.

I am going to guess they had tests and probably realized they were seeing rolloff past 1002MHz due to older taps so they are trying to keep it as close as possible to 1GHz but still using the maximum they can get.

Tbh if they would take a second look at reserving 16 QAM carriers for SDV. Surely they aren't needing that many. I have seen no more than 4 frequencies in use in my area at once going through and looking at the diags menu.

I could see SDV being trimmed to 12 QAMs and they could fit everything below 1GHz.

The biggest effects of this change is cable card users are now required to use tuning adapters/HSC devices to receive the full basic tier. Before there was limited disruption without SDV tuning the diginets of the primary channels on the basic tier.

pr92 that was a part of the high-split box replacements that they initiated in North Texas in 2022-2023. We have been world box and Motorola/ARRIS DCX, and Samsung SMT only since 2023 in legacy TWC. Legacy Charter has world boxes and Cisco/technicolor HDC except in Denton, Rockwall, and Waxahachie headends that have motorola/arris and world boxes.

modem went down around 12:50am they have shifted the DOCSIS channels down by 12MHz so now the OFDM ends at 749MHz instead of 761MHz. Also noticing a 12MHz gap at 453MHz and 459MHz. SDV was moved down 24MHz. The OFDM plc is now 662MHz instead of 674MHz.

Looks like they are trying to keep everything by default at 750MHz tops to have a metro wide band plan except for having a wider OFDM channel on congested nodes in areas that still have 860MHz+ gear. Duncanville is only 750MHz still and is one of the last areas in North Texas being upgraded apparently.
