lesmikesell But I don’t believe there is any way to upgrade the ‘peacock premium’ that you get bundled with gig service or as a reward to the ‘premium plus’ ad free level.

I seem to recall that there were hints that eventually it should be possible. That it has not yet happened does indicate some issues behind the scenes.

In the new customer plan builder, its part of the workflow to upgrade to Premium Plus which claims no ads and local NBC channel live 24/7.

The plan builder workflow is as follow:

Initial packages (can pick 1100 or 2100 for Peacock Premium included for 2 years).
Equipment. Xfinity Gateway $0.00 for 12 months, after 12 months $15.00 apply. Also the ability to rent to own storm ready wifi $7/m for 36 months or pay in full $252.00.
Entertainment extras like StreamSaver, Now TV, Now Stream Saver, Now TV Latino, optional Xumo stream, and then add ons like Apple TV+, MLS and here is where you can upgrade the peacock plan.
Next is the professional install (2hr apt window) for $0.00 with availability beginning Wed, May 7.

Upgrading here totally negates the discount because if you go right to the source, Premium Plus is already $13.99.

You’d think if Peacock Premium was $7.99 a month and included, they should just charge you the difference so make the upgrade only $6. Comcast logic for you.

I did better by catching a deal for a year at half-price (black friday or something). The upgrade to ad-free was still the full amount but at least it allowed it.

Comcast’s spinoff of the majority of its NBCUniversal cable network portfolio will be named “Versant.” It will include most of Comcast’s cable TV assets, including USA, Syfy, E!, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen and Golf Channel, as well as some digital businesses like Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes. It will be led by CEO Mark Lazarus, CFO and COO Anand Kini, and chairman David Novak:

It is a name. I don’t personally care what the parent corporation is named, it is the content, carriage. and price that I care about. Existing carriage contracts will likely cover them for a year (or few), but they have their work cut out for them moving forward.

The naming process for Versant involved extensive collaboration, with marketing employees from each brand contributing ideas. Starting in late December, the team generated over 1,000 potential names, many inspired by New York, cable TV, or NBCUniversal’s headquarters at 30 Rockefeller Center. Comcast enlisted three marketing agencies to refine the list, which was narrowed to 43 names after legal and trademark reviews. A dozen finalists were presented to a deciding committee, and Versant was selected for its evocative meaning—a region of land sloping in one direction, which Lazarus jokingly likened to “a rising stock price.”
