toolman1990 If you use Firefox you are granting them permission to use any data that is sent/received.
Checking this page, I don't see how I would have a browser if the browser wouldn't be able to have that data entered.
In other words, if I type "apple" in the search box, if the browser isn't allowed to send anything once I press "Enter", you couldn't have that functionality at all. It's the same for the address bar.
Mozilla is a company and, if Mozilla wants to offer any of these features, they need a disclaimer that they'll need to use that data to... you know... make the browser work.
I've looked through the ToU and Privacy Policy pages and it's all standard stuff you find on all kind of services or software. They've cleared up that they do not own anything and that checks out with ToU and PrPo. Everything they claim to collect, they have a page on how to opt-out. If the opt-outs didn't work, I think we would have heard about it waaaaaaaaay before today.
It's been blown way out of proportion, imo.
Regardless, with the enshittification of all things, I've grown numb to that kind of stuff because I've come to realize that real privacy online does not exist anymore. There was a great interview a few years back with a known hacker and how far they go to remain anonymous. It's basically a full-time job. Otherwise, you shouldn't use anything that has electronics: no TV, no phone, no computers, no cars...
