Thanks again! I looked over the quick guide for 2.1 and it's neither quick nor simple and possibly a little outdated. Since this was supposed to be a fun project it doesn't look like it would work out that way. I may try it but don't hold your breath for a report back. But thanks so much again for your help!
Now that I think about it another thing I noticed that I now see as an impediment to having the OS/2 was that when I previously a Linux distro with a dual boot to a copy of Windows 11 on this now blank drive when in my main Windows 11 I could see only the Windows partition, so it showed only half the space of the physical drive and therefore limited its use for copying other data onto it. I imagine that the same would be true with OS/2, so I would not want to give up easy access to that potential storage space.
I also filled out the form to get a link to download the demo CD but thus far have not received the promised email with the link. I certainly wouldn't have minded trying that.😞
