MalwareBytes version # Where is it shown?

I have MalwareBytes paid premium version purchased from Newegg running on three computers here. I contacted MBAM about a question. Their AI Bot needs to know the version number to answer my question, but it doesn't seem to be shown anywhere they told me to look.

It is not on the MBAM image that opens up when you open the program. It is not in Settings. Nor is there any "about" anywhere I can find in the program when it is open (which is all the time).

Does anyone know where to find the version number?

Thank you, takeahike. Your version looks different from mine. Mine still doesn't show the version # and it doesn't display that third image in your reply.

Here's what I see there, and nothing else even if update is clicked on.

What you show on the right hand side of the second image is simply not part of what my version of MalwareBytes shows.

My version shows nothing there to the right. There is nothing there and no slide out box appears, and there is nothing to click on to get a slide out window to appear.

My version came as digital software, not as boxed software. I wonder if that is the problem.

I could not reach a live person at all to ask about any of this. Just an AI bot.

My version of MBAM does work - after a fashion. It flags HR Block tax software and many dll's as potential malware as well.

You can chat with them after logging into your account. They apparently used to have an email address for support, and I got some very good help that way, but the last time I tried it it bounced back on me like it was no longer valid. Good luck!

Unless you installed it to a different location---

The file mbam.exe is located in the folder C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.

That's the executable.

If you RIGHT CLICK on the FILE (mbam.exe) then go to PROPERTIES then to DETAILS, it should show the Version Number.

Another way to find the executable mbam.exe is to RIGHT-CLICK on the MalwareBytes ICON, then click on OPEN FILE LOCATION, then proceed as above.

You are absolutely correct, PX. I tried what you suggest and note that the exe file's "details" tab shows my version is 5.0.xxx.

Interestingly going into Windows, All Settings, Apps and Features, shows my MBAW version is 5.2.7.167. Perhaps it started as 5.0 and was later updated by MalwareBytes itself to the later 5.2.xxx version.

Just right click any of them from here and Save Image As... (I'm assuming that you have Windows). After saving, just follow instructions from px_eliezer_. You can't use any file for your avatar (as it's called) that is larger than 2048k.

We're luckier here as on DSLReports they had to be approved before displaying, although you could have an animated one there that this site apparently doesn't support.

Just left-click on your own current Icon (which right now is the default "S" in a circle) and you can upload an image to serve as your customized icon.
