No, I want to make things that are objectively unsafe illegal. The European safety standards exist for a reason.
No other car manufacturer has a hard time following them, and the fact that no other truck looks like the Cybertruck should give you a hint that even the American-market car manufacturers that are only making models for the American market can see the wisdom in not designing something to be unsafe. Those regulations about radius for sharp edges are about pedestrian safety in accidents, and are the reason that literally everything else you can buy is curvy. The regulations about light configuration are about visibility and clarity of signals for other drivers.
Only in the US does safety take a second seat to fashion. I'm just arguing that as Canadians we shouldn't be following that example.
