I upgraded to FIOS TV One equipment earlier this month as part of a contract renewal. I use FIOS Internet, TV, and Digital Voice services.
Since the new equipment was installed, we are seeing 2-3 caller id displays on the tv we do not recognize and the phone does not ring nor does the "call" appear in the call log. Test calls from our cell phones ring, display, and appear in the call log as one would expect.
I've captured incoming UDP packets arriving for the set top box (STB) on port 63145 from the Verizon service node (18.214.209.84). Both the real calls and the silent/unlogged calls are produced by identically addressed packets.
Any thoughts on why the Verizon service node is sending STB display packets for calls that do not ring ?
