Dustyn I think the Pro version of OE Classic is only good for 3 years, and then you need to upgrade your license. Correct me if I'm wrong.
That is correct. Both Thunderbird and Betterbird are free and open source. Betterbird is of course based on Thunderbird code but is definitely better (pun unintended) and has the absolute best support--the few times I've emailed them I've always received very help responses within five minutes! I still use Thunderbird as my default mostly out of habit but Betterbird is right behind as a secondary. I also really like the notifier, PopMan, although I was advised by its developer that he wasn't able to support the new OAuth requirements of MS for Outlook.com implemented a few months ago. It really doesn't matter much for me because I get about one email to my Outlook account about once every three months, but I did find another free and open source notifier that supports Outlook.com called Howard that works very well too despite the fact that I really don't have any serious need for it.
Update: Beware. I just checked out Howard again and it gave me an update that made the whole thing a disaster. Not only would it not work but that was even the case when I dumped the new version and installed an older version that used to work. Since I wasn't really using it and don't actually need it at all I just got rid of it.
