cable box return

last night went to the xfinity store to replace a xid box for another one,no problem the new box works fine also got a receipt showing equipment returned and equipment issued.today i checked my account and it shows the new box,but ity also shows the old box i returned?will that old box the one i returned come off the list eventually?its only been around 16hrs ago.

beaglejohn I would wait a few days first, especially if you did this on a weekend. It may not show up until it is checked into their warehouse.

So, it is strange that the old box was still shown on your account.
But it is good that you got a receipt showing that the equipment was returned. [Which I also make sure I get and hold on to!]

If it's not too much trouble, I suggest that you go back to the Xfinity Store with that receipt and have them check your account there, and correct it if that old box is still shown on your account.

While Comcast says it should "be immediately removed from your account," I guess it would be wise to wait until after this weekend is over, before checking again to see if the old box is still shown on your account or not.

I know the newer boxes have bar codes that can be quickly scanned into their system, but older boxes may not, and have to have their serial numbers entered manually.

Not sure then if Comcast's system would flag an invalid number being entered or not, but that could be one possible reason why an old box might still show up after it has been returned.

telcodad yea,i went back to the store a couple of hours ago,the guy pulled up my account and said that is not on my account anymore even though i see it on the website,so i guess it might take a couple of days too see it off the website.
