I wanted a particular additive to pour into my gas tank.

Amazon only offered something like a pack of 24 bottles, and wanted me to wait several days.

With Walmart, they let me buy just a 2-bottle pack, and the order came very quickly (ordered yesterday evening, delivered just now).

As well, Walmart provided constant delivery updates by text.

Very impressed—have had good results with Walmart Home Delivery before and will be trying to use them even more now.

A several weeks ago I ordered a bag of charcoal and some other small item. They were supposed to be delivered the next day by 10pm. After midnight the app said the order was delayed (and gave no reason). After several days the order was canceled by them. I reordered; same happened again. The third time I ordered I split it into two separate orders in case it was just one item causing the issue. They both arrived the next afternoon.

I’ve been a Walmart+ member since before it was Walmart+. In 2015 Walmart wanted to compete with Amazon and so they started a 3-day (later 2-day) ship to home service membership for only $50/year called Walmart ShippingPass. It was a nightmare. I would spend 2 hours grocery shopping, putting items in the cart (no perishables) and over half of them would be out-of-stock when I went to check out. It became so frustrating that I began ordering one item at a time and would receive 20-30 orders. They quickly discontinued the service and refunded everyone back their full membership fee.

After that they had Delivery Unlimited starting in 2019. It was the same as WM+ except only groceries and no additional perks. One year later they rolled all members into WM+. It is constantly evolving adding more services and perks.

That happens once in a while when the same pothead is assigned to deliver your order those two days in a row.

I’ve ordered groceries and have had them delivered at like 6 am. I’ve had a very nice elderly couple deliver them then and then a few times this hottie chick gets out of the car in her high heels wearing a beautiful evening dress to hand me my Cheerios, milk, and Eggos with me standing there in my garage with my bedhead and old rumpled t-shirt. I almost was going to say to her “If I knew you were coming I could’ve at least combed my hair”. I guess she was done with her night job and now was doing her day job. 😉

I’ve recently had that happen with multiple orders with Amazon Prime. They announce it’ll be delivered tomorrow. At 10pm tomorrow the delivery status says “It’s gonna be delivered today”. It still hasn’t arrived at midnight. At 4 am I’m sent an email saying “Sorry for the delay. It’ll arrive today.” Is there cruddy weather? If so that’s not a big deal. I can accept that. There’s nothing Amazon can do about poorly plowed streets after a snowstorm.
I tried to cancel an order with one next day delivery after waiting 10 days and was told Too late, it’s shipped. Keep waiting.
Is Amazon Prime really worthy of $100+/year? I’m not so sure anymore. Next day delivery? Ha! Amazon Prime video? meh. Amazon Music with ads is fine with me. They’ve abandoned my Kindle reader.
It’s time to explore what else is available. WalMart? Other sites I frequent? Anyone have other suggestions?

I was watching a few videos on Youtube- with some Door-Dash / walmart spark drivers [Gig delivery workers] explaining about no tip / no trip due to low pay for delivery with some services. Or tip baiting.. When I ordered some things from walmarts website before, it ended up coming from the next town over. Due to the local location not having everything on the order.
