payup Does anyone else experience 1-2s of buffering while streaming during prime time or large events. My guess is over saturated peering etc. Speedtest is normal. Wired to BGW-320.
Roamer Yes. I’ve chalked it up to AT&T’s peering. I don’t have the same issues when I immediately swap over to LUS Fiber or Cox and then the issues return once I swap back over to AT&T.
toolman1990 Roamer Correct me if wrong but I think AT&T has less servers than Verizon and T Mobile. That could explain the buffering if AT&T's limited server capacity got overwhelmed due to the inauguration.
payup Roamer It's slightly disappointing. Everything mostly "just works" so i can't do too much complaining but it could be alot better with some optimization and turning up more PoP's.
Slab_Bulkhead I have seen some of this. I currently have resold AT&T Fiber service through toast.net.
adlr If you can, I recommend setting up smokeping to track to specific endpoints of interest. Here's an example showing my pings on AT&T Fiber in SF Bay Area to Germany. Often there's congestion around 6pm local time.
jec99 I ran a speed test to my TV and was only getting 75Mbs at best up and down. My TV is wired directly to the BGW320. Removed the cable from the TV’s Ethernet port and plugged it into an Ethernet/USB adapter. My up/down speed increased 4X. Not sure if this will help with the buffering. Stay tune….
