The premise seems unrealistic. Any one who has watched Blue Bloods knows that Danny is a die-hard NYer, and loves it too much here, and wouldn't leave the NYPD to go the the BPD.

And also, what about him and Baez??? They were finally starting something!

If this was a real world situation, Danny could retire from the NYPD and collect his pension. He then could start a new cop job in Boston and still continue to collect a regular paycheck on top of that pension.

Most likely their going to have Danny "forced" out of the NYPD for some reason. He takes his pension and since he can't be a cop in NY anymore, he jumps at a chance to be a cop again in Boston.

Just speculation.
