Donoreo While it's the wrong time of year here to make comments that hold a lot of water in the overall discussion, border crossings at the two most used eastern Ontario crossings (1000 islands/Lansdowne and Prescott/Ogdendburg) have had extremely light non-commercial traffic the last 2 weeks. Light enough that they have generally only been running one non-commercial car/RV wicket on the southbound into US crossings. Commercial truck traffic seems to be at relatively normal unaffected levels. The particularly awful weather in upstate NY and eastern ON during the last 2 weeks likely is an influencer there, but normally the mid-day southbound traffic this time of year when there aren't active snow storms or travel restrictions is relatively brisk with southbound holiday seekers off to the Carolinas, Florida, Texas, and other places warm during college reading week and the upcoming school breaks, etc. I only know because my employer has constant daily back and forth shipments with our US warehouse in Ogdensburg and we have a display screen on the wall next to shipping showing current wait times north and south bound at Lansdowne, Prescott, and Cornwall and they have stayed relatively pinned at "under 5 minutes" on the southbound screens since the beginning of February, and the shipping folks have relayed that our drivers are regularly seeing empty lanes throughout the day. I'm sure busier crossings like Detroit and Niagara are still busy, but out this way they are far more seasonal (I've waited 4 hours northbound back into Canada on a Sunday afternoon in July) - but even mid-winter when crossing we would normally have 4-5 cars ahead and usually 2, sometimes 3 windows open.
