Connect Failed: 403 Forbidden

I just updated the firmware in my OBI200. Everything appeared to work correctly, until I tried to make a call.

I was originally getting a token error. So I updated the firmware. Now I am getting the following status message.

Connect Failed: 403 Forbidden (server=216.239.36.145; retry in 97s)

Any ideas…?

I did change my firewall setting from medium to minimal. That did not change anything.

Google AI: "A 403 Forbidden error with a “Token Error” on your OBi200 usually indicates that the OAuth authentication token linking your device to Google Voice has expired, broken, or lost."

What service provider are you trying to use?

What firmware are you trying to use?

I don’t use Google Voice with modified firmware, so I can’t advise further.

Thanks OE for your response. Yes, I am trying to connect to Google Voice.

I have been using google voice for years… I was out of the country for a few months and had my internet shut down. When I came back and started everything back up, I was getting a token error. I guess I lost authorization. Next I applied all the firmware updates and now I am getting the 403 forbidden error. I have been doing searches, but did not come up with a solution yet.

Sounds like you did make the switch to modified firmware. A knowledgeable user of same here may come along and comment. I wonder if you need to refresh a ‘token’ or whatever that bit is. Sorry I can’t be more help… I never took to Google Voice.

I used the firmware from: NAF FIRMWARE
Crowdsourced updates for Obihai ATAs and IP Phones

I followed the excellent instructions.
I started at version 8680EX. Then downgraded to 5921. Next to 6259 and finally to 3.2.2 (Build: 8680EX-arrynrob13). It all went very smoothly. I hope I can get it working again.

I do use a hardware key to sign on my google account.

Could that have anything to do with the 403 Forbidden message?

now its trying to connect to 0.0.0.0 not the normal google voice server
